Despite Disney moving many of their films from a theatrical release to their streaming service, including the upcoming Pixar film Soul<\/strong> and next March’s Raya And The Last Dragon<\/strong>, the studio will be keeping their Marvel Studios film Black Widow<\/strong> starring Scarlett Johnasson on target for a theatrical release next May.<\/p>\n

Set after 2016’s Captain America: Civil War<\/strong>, the film follows the former Russian spy-turned-superhero as she finds her past coming back to haunt her. Joining Johansson in the cast are Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, William Hurt, Ray Winstone, and Rachel Weisz.<\/p>\n

Due to the growing interconnected nature of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was thought that the film would be forced to Disney+ if waiting for a theatrical release would force the delay of further projects due to storylines that would be first introduced in Black Widow<\/strong>. It is known that co-star Pugh will be appearing the upcoming Hawkeye<\/em> Disney+ streaming series just getting into production.<\/p>\n

It had previously been rumored that Pugh would also be making an appearance in the already wrapped The Falcon And The Winter Soldier<\/em> series. But given that that series will be hitting Disney+ before Black Widow<\/strong>‘s premier, that seems unlikely now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
