Hayden Christensen is set for a return to the Star Wars universe. The actor who breathed life into the tragic figure of Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars<\/strong> prequel trilogy is set to reprise his role in the upcoming Disney+ streaming series Ahsoka<\/em>. <\/p>\n

Ahsoka<\/em> stars Rosario Dawson as the titular former Jedi padawan, who first brought the character originally voiced in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars<\/em> and Star Wars: Rebels<\/em> by Ashley Eckstein to live action in a season 2 episode of Disney+’s The Mandalorian<\/em>. Dave Filoni, who created the character for the Star Wars: The Clone Wars<\/em> series is writing Ahsoka and serving as executive producer alongside Jon Favreau.<\/p>\n

In Star Wars: The Clone Wars<\/em>, set between the prequel trilogy’s Star Wars: Attack Of The Clones<\/strong> and Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith<\/strong> feature films, Ahsoka was Anakin Skywalker’s apprentice, learning the ways of the Force on her way to becoming a Jedi Knight. However, after a falling out with the Jedi Council, Ahsoka left the Jedi order to strike out on her own. Several years later, during the events of Star Wars: Rebels<\/em>, Ahsoka discovered that Anakin had fallen to the Dark Side of the Force to become Darth Vader, though she never fully resolved her feelings over this discovery.<\/p>\n

Exactly how Anakin will be appearing in the series remains a mystery for now. The show is set five years after Return Of The Jedi, in which his character returned to the side of good in the moments leading up to his death. But there are a few possibilities that spring to mind. The first would be Anakin appearing in a flashback, though would possibly necessitate finding an actress to play the younger Ashoka, as the Clone War events are 35 years in the past of the new show’s time frame. The more likely alternative would be having his character appear as a Force Ghost in the same way we have seen other Jedi Knight characters appear in the past. But given the nature of their past relationship, the two characters meeting again definitely promises some <\/p>\n

This won’t be Christensen’s first return to the Star Wars<\/strong> universe after completing work on the Star Wars: Revenge Of The Jedi<\/strong>, the finale chapter of the prequel Star Wars<\/strong> trilogy. He will be appearing the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi<\/em>, which will see Ewan McGregor returning to his prequel role of the iconic Jedi Knight.
