Warner Brothers is developing a sequel to their 2005 comic book adaption Constantine<\/strong> which will see Keanu Reeves returning to play the DC Comics occult detective character John Constantine. Joining Reeves from the original will be director Francis Lawrence.<\/p>\n

Deadline<\/a> is reporting that the studio has brought on Akiva Goldsman to write and produce the project alongside JJ Abram’s Bad Robot production shingle.<\/p>\n

While Keanu was the first actor to bring the character to live action, Matt Ryan starred as the occult detective in a short-lived TV series for NBC in 2014. While it was cancelled after 13 episodes, Ryan’s interpretation of the character proved popular enough with fans that he was integrated into the Arrowverse shows over on the CW, first on Arrow<\/em> before becoming a regular on Legends Of Tomorrow<\/em>.<\/p>\n

While some fans were aghast that the character of John Constantine was being played by a non-British actor, and using an American accent as well, the film still made a moderate profit, pulling in $230 million at the worldwide box office against its $70 million budget.
