Sony is bringing another character out of its Spider-Man adjacent characters it holds the rights to and is teaming with Amazon for a pulp-tinged Spider-Man Noir<\/em> live action television series.<\/p>\n

The show is being developed by screenwriter Oren Uziel, who has last year’s Sandra Bullock-Channing Tatum action comedy The Lost City<\/strong> and 2021\u2019s Mortal Kombat<\/strong> on his resume. Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the producers of Sony\u2019s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse<\/strong> animated movie and it’s two upcoming sequels, have also lent a hand in developing this project.<\/p>\n

Spider-Man Noir first appeared in a 2009 self-titled comic book mini-series. Set in an alternate Earth still stuck in a 1930s and 40s aesthetic, it transposed the usually more happy-go-lucky superhero into a milieu better known for better, hardboiled detectives and sexy yet dangerous femme fatales. The character was brought to the big screen in 2018′ Spider-Man: Into The Spidre-Verse<\/strong>, where he was voiced by Nic Cage.<\/p>\n

The series marks the second collaboration between Amazon and Sony in developing a television series from the Spider-Man stable of characters that Sony owns the film and TV rights to . The pair are already partnered on developing Silk: Spider-Society<\/em>, featuring the character Silk. This show is being developed by The Walking Dead<\/em> showrunner Angela Kang.<\/p>\n

No dates have been announced for when either show will be going into production or if there is a targeted timeframe in which Amazon and Sony hope to premier them.<\/p>\n

As of now, it is unknown, if these two shows will interconnect with each other or the various Spider-Man adjacent feature films such as Venom<\/strong> and the upcoming Kraven The Hunter<\/strong> that Sony has been producing. Of course, the animated feature Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse<\/strong> suggests that all things are possible, so one can never tell.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
