Superman will be meeting his match in the form of Nicholas Hoult.<\/p>\n

The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> is stating that the The Great<\/em> actor is currently in discussions with Warner Brothers to play Superman arch-nemesis Lex Luthor for writer\/director James Gunn’s upcoming Superman: Legacy<\/em>. Although Warner Brothers has not yet yet confirmed the report, the Reporter does note that Hoult had previously been in close contention for the role of Superman before the studio began considering him for Luther.<\/p>\n

Previously, David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan were announced as playing Clark Kent\/Superman and Lois Lane.<\/p>\n

After years of an apparently rudderless direction for their DC Comics film adaptions, Superman: Legacy<\/strong> will be acting as a reset to the franchise. Warner Brothers hired Gunn to oversee this overhaul<\/a> in October 2022, while the writer\/director was already at work in developing the Superman: Legacy screenplay. The project would become the cornerstone of a multi-year plan<\/a>, the first portion of entitled “Chapter 1: Gods And Monsters.”<\/p>\n
