The fire that broke out at Universal Studios early Sunday morning will not hamper a majority of the production work going on at the studio, despite it having damaged several standing outdoor sets.<\/p>\n

“Tomorrow will be business as usual,” said the studio’s president and chief operating officer, Ron Meyer to the LA Times<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Destroyed or damaged in the blaze were Universal’s New York and New England sets which had been used in such films as The Sting<\/strong>, When Harry Met Sally<\/strong> and Clint Eastwood’s upcoming The Changeling<\/strong>. Also damaged was the courthouse square from the Back To The Future<\/strong> trilogy.
Also damaged was one building housing a video vault, with some 40,000 to 50,000 videos reportedly affected by the flames.<\/p>\n

However, Meyer told Reuters<\/a> news service that “nothing irreplaceable was lost.”<\/p>\n

The fire started on the New York City Street set and was reported at 4:45 am. Nearly 500 firefighters from Los Angeles area fire departments responded to combat the blaze, which was brought under control after nearly 12 hours. Nine fire fighters and a deputy sheriff were injured, but their were no fatalities.<\/p>\n
