Although the contract between the two stipulates twenty-two episode seasons, season one premiered as a mid-season replacement with sixteen episodes and the strike disrupted second season only ran thirteen episodes. <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/05\/night-court-renewed-season-nbc-episode-count-1235903785\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deadline<\/a> is reporting that this third season order will be for 18 episodes.<\/p>\n<p>The series stars Melissa Rauch as the daughter of original series lead character Judge Harry Stone (played by the late Harry Anderson) who has taken on her father&#8217;s role on the bench of a Manhattan criminal courts bench.
