Variety<\/a> is announcing that Alfred Molina has joined the cast of Disney’s adaptation of Ubisoft’s popular video game franchise, Prince of Persia<\/strong>. His hiring has added to the general overall Spider-Man <\/strong>feel.<\/p>\n

We all know that Molina portrayed the tortured villain Otto Octavius in 2004’s Spider-Man 2<\/strong>. But Jake Gyllenhaal, who previously signed as the lead in Prince of Persia<\/strong>, was set to step in for Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker\/Spider-Man for that sequel if Maguire’s back problems kept him from that role.<\/p>\n

Another member of Persia’s <\/strong>announced cast has a Spider-Man <\/strong>connection. Ben Kingsley was in negotiations to possibly play the Vulture in 2007’s Spider-Man 3<\/strong>. Early versions of the script featured the winged villain, but he never made the final cut.<\/p>\n
