She was 79.<\/p>\n<p>Keaton made her acting debut on the Broadway stage in 1968 in the musical,\u00a0<em>Hair<\/em>. She soon caught the attention of Hollywood and made her film debut in 1970&#8217;s <strong>Lovers and Other Strangers<\/strong>. Keaton would receive three more Oscar nominations, two more BAFTA nods, and eight more Golden Globe nominations, winning the award again for 2003&#8217;s <strong>Something&#8217;s Got to Give<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Keaton also appeared in as the ultimately doomed schoolteacher Teresa Dunn in\u00a0<strong>Looking For Mr. Goodbar<\/strong>, released, as\u00a0<strong>Annie Hall\u00a0<\/strong>was,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>in 1977.<\/p>\n<p>Keaton continued to accumulate iconic roles as the 1980s rolled in, starting with 1981&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Reds\u00a0<\/strong>and continuing with films such as\u00a0<strong>Shoot the Moon<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Mrs. Soffel, The Little Drummer Girl<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Crime of the Heart<\/strong>. She found mainstream success with the hit\u00a0<strong>Baby Boom<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Her commercial success continued into the 1990s in roles such as\u00a0<strong>The First Wives Club\u00a0<\/strong>and the\u00a0<strong>Father of the Bride\u00a0<\/strong>series. She also found time during the decade to star in small films such as\u00a0<strong>Marvin&#8217;s Room<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As the new century rolled on, Keaton continued to have commercial success with the aforementioned\u00a0<strong>Something&#8217;s Got to Give<\/strong>. She continued to act in high-profile parts over the the rest of her career in films such as <strong>The Family Stone, Because I Said So, Morning Glory, And So it Goes,<\/strong> and <strong>Book Club<\/strong>.
