Jon Stewart will be staying with Comedy Central’s The Daily Show<\/em> for another year.<\/p>\n

The comedian has renewed his deal with the cable outlet to executive produce and serve as the show’s Monday broadcast host for another year, seeing him continuing with the satirical news show through 2026. Stewart’s current contract was set to expire in December. This new contract will keep him on the show through the mid-term elections next November.<\/p>\n

Hosting duties for the show’s remaining three days per week are split between its comedian\/correspondents Ronny Chieng, Josh Johnson, Jordan Klepper, Michael Kosta and Desi Lydic.<\/p>\n

Although Stewart was not the original host of The Daily Show<\/em> – that would be Craig Kilborn, who fronted the show for its first two-and-a-half years before leaving – he is definitely the personality who has shaped the show the most. both in his presence and absence. When Stewart took the seat behind the desk, he led a transformation of the show that originally was more pop culture oriented into one of the most popular outlets for political satire. It also served as the launching pad for a number of comedians and performers, including Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Samantha Bee, John Oliver, Ed Helms, Jason Jones, Hasan Minhaj, Mo Rocca, Rob Corddry and others.<\/p>\n

Stewart initially left The Daily Show<\/em> in 2015, handing the reigns of the show to correspondent Trevor Noah. Noah would leave in 2022.
