With all the news this past few weeks concerning Marvel Comics superhero properties on the big screen, it would be understandable if one forgot that DC Comics hero Batman was making a return to the cineplexes later next month in The Dark Knight<\/strong>, director Christopher Nolan’s sequel to 2005’s Batman Begins<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Dark Knight<\/strong> has been fairly aggressive in its viral marketing over the last several months, and it the film’s publicity steps things up a notch this weekend with the premier of the first of what appears to be several episodes of Gotham Tonight<\/em>. A faux news and discussion show highlighting Gotham City current events that presumably play into upcoming film. The first episode deals with the election of Harvey Dent to Gotham City’s district attorney office, corruption in the police department and the impact of Batman’s vigilanty activities. The show’s host, Mike Engle, is played by Anthony Michael Hall, who will be featured in the film as well.<\/p>\n

Currently Gotham Tonight<\/em> is available through cable provider Comcast’s OnDemand feature, but should presumable be made available through other outlets in the next couple of days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
