\"\"<\/a>If you’ve already purchased and watched your Blu-Ray disc of Saving Private Ryan last week, you undeoubtedly noticed that there is a severe problem with the authoring of the disc. Specifically the audio was out of sync with the picture, causing shells and explosions to be heard before they actually exploded.<\/p>\n

Well, Paramount and Technicolor, who authored the discs, have acknowledged the issue and is recalling the entire run of the title. The companies are rushing replacement discs out to retailers, with the intention of having them on shelves by the 18th<\/sup>. Replacement discs will be identifiable by a yellow UPC sticker on the back.<\/p>\n

If you have already bought a copy of the film, you can return it to the store you got it for a replacement. Paramount has also set up a toll free information line you can call. In the U.S. and Canada, the number is 888-370-8621; in the U.K., 08000-852-613.<\/p>\n

While authoring mistakes and disc recalls are uncommon, this is certainly the biggest one seen in a while. In 2002, Universal had a problem with their Back To The Future DVD box set in which sections of Parts II and III were framed incorrectly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
