The biggest news out of the San Diego Comics Con yesterday\u00a0is the panel for Warner Brothers’ upcoming adaptation of rge classic graphic novel Watchmen<\/em>. Held in the biggest room at the con, which holds approximately 6,500 people, organizers still had to turn hundreds of fans away once the room was full. A longer version of the recently revealed trailer was screened and you can read about the extra footage at a number<\/a> of online<\/a> sources. Later in the day, Watchmen<\/strong>\u00a0director Zack Snyder talked about the film’s length<\/a> and possible DVD releases at Entertainment Weekly<\/em>‘s “Visionaries” panel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Spirit<\/strong>– Comics creator-turned-film director Frank Miller was on hand to talk up his forthcoming adaptation of the classic Will Eisner hero along with cast members Samuel L. Jackson and Jaime King. Some new footage was show, but left the folks from\u00a0Cinematical<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Film School Rejects<\/a>\u00a0were underwhelmed, to say the least.<\/p>\n

Kevin Smith- Not many directors get their own panel, but since Smith has plenty of fanboy street cred, he qualifies. He talked<\/a> about his troubles with the MPAA over the upcoming Zack And Miri Make A Porno<\/strong> and that he was hoping his next film will be his horror project Red State<\/strong>. He also stated that the film after that “will test [his] abilities as a visual filmmaker,” hinting that it takes place in outer space. Sounds like he is finally getting around to his Ranger Danger And The Danger Rangers<\/strong> project that he has mentioned before.<\/p>\n

Wolfman<\/strong>– Universal screened a trailer for their upcoming new version of the classic horror monster starring Benicio del Toro and Anthony Hopkins. Even more interesting is that the werewolf makeup is being done by genius Rick Baker.
