\"\"<\/a>No, unfortunately I am not about to tell you that we’re finally going to get Buckaroo Banzai Against The World Crime League<\/strong>, the sequel promised at the end of 1984’s The Adventures Of Buckaroo Banzai Across The Eighth Dimension<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

However, Buckaroo and his hard rocking and hard fighting scientist colleagues the Hong Kong Cavaliers will be returning with new adventures courtesy of comics publisher Moonstone, written by the Buckaroo’s creator Earl Mac Rauch. This past year’s Return Of The Screw<\/em> Buckaroo Banzai miniseries has apparently energized Rauch, as he is assuming the writing chores for three new up coming adventures.<\/p>\n

Coming next year will be a new miniseries, Of Hunan Bondage<\/em>, which will serve as a prequel to the 1984 film. Diehard fans of the film, and I most definitely fall into that camp, know that Buckaroo\u2019s wife Peggy was murdered on their wedding day by the villainous Hanoi Xan. It was in Across The Eighth Dimension<\/strong> that he meets Penny Priddy, a woman who could be Peggy’s long-lost twin. A look at some of the preview art on Moonstone’s page for the titles hints that some of this story may be examined in the miniseries.<\/p>\n

Moonstone will also be publishing a special one-shot title, Wild Asses Of The Kush<\/em>, with art by Paul Hanley. You can catch a preview of some of the art for this book at the Banzai Institute\u2019s “official site<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

But if you can’t wait until next year for new adventures of Buckaroo and company, head to your local comics shop in December and pickup Moonstone’s holiday anthology Moonstone Holiday Special<\/em>, which will feature the short comic story “A Christmas Corrall.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
