Pineapple Express (2,800+ Theaters, 111 Minutes, Rated R): <\/strong>There have been pot comedies before (Cheech and Chong made their names from them), there have been action comedies (take the Rush Hour <\/strong>movies, please), but a pot action comedy? It’s like two, two, two great genres in one!<\/p>\n

Yes, this week brings another entry in Judd Apatow’s massive empire of comedy films. This time, Seth Rogen gets another turn at bat, re-teaming with his Superbad <\/strong>writing cohort Evan Goldberg.<\/p>\n

This movie tells the tale of a pothead and his dealer who go on the run after witnessing a killing. What complicates their getaway is the fact that both are in altered states. The comedy comes from their attempts to concentrate long enough to save their lives.<\/p>\n

2. The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2 (2,600+ Theaters, 117 Minutes, Rated PG-13): <\/strong>It is strange to see how things have changed since the first movie in regard to these ladies’ careers. Back when The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants <\/strong>came out, Amber Tamblyn was in the buzz TV show, Joan of Arcadia <\/strong>and Alexis Bledel was on the critically acclaimed Gilmore Girls<\/strong>. America Ferrara and Blake Lively were virtually unknown.<\/p>\n

Now, Blake Lively is the star of the buzzworthy Gossip Girl <\/strong>and America Ferrara is on the critically acclaimed Ugly Betty<\/strong>. Both Gilmore Girls <\/strong>and Joan of Arcadia <\/strong>have gone off the air, and Bledel and Tamblyn have begun their burgeoning film careers.<\/p>\n

This film continues the adventures of four women who are united by friendship and a really good pair of jeans. Which is weird because all four appear to be different sizes. It doesn’t seem logical that one pair of pants would fit all of them.<\/p>\n
