His work on Gollum in Peter Jackson&#8217;s <strong>Lord Of The Rings <\/strong>films proved that characters could be fully realized through the process of using human actors to drive computer created visuals, a process he further further evolved on the human side of the equation with Jackson&#8217;s <strong>King Kong<\/strong> remake.<\/p>\n<p>Serkis will be slipping back into a mo-cap suit for 20th Century Fox&#8217;s <strong>Planet Of The Apes<\/strong> prequel\/reboot <strong>Rise Of The Apes<\/strong>. He&#8217;ll be portraying Caesar, the genetically altered chimpanzee who is the one responsible for the events eventually leading to the future that Charlton Heston discovers in <strong>Planet Of The Apes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This should come as no big surprise as it has already been announced that most of the film&#8217;s chimpanzees and apes would be realized by WETA through CGI.<\/p>\n<p>At least this bit of news coming to us via <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/20thFoxCC\/status\/17357366224\" target=\"_blank\">twitter<\/a> is from Chris Petrikin, Fox\u2019s VP of Corporate Communications and not from an actor possibly bypassing agents and management.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/SerkisTweet.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8906\" title=\"SerkisTweet\" src=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/SerkisTweet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"329\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/SerkisTweet.jpg 590w, https:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/SerkisTweet-300x167.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/SerkisTweet-550x307.jpg 550w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 590px) 100vw, 590px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Serkis joins the already cast James Franco, John Lithgow and Freida Pinto.
