\"\"<\/a>Brian Cox has joined the cast of Fox’s new Planet Of The Apes<\/strong> film, Rise Of The Apes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Wrap is reporting that Cox is in final negotiations to play “the villainous owner of a primate sanctuary who runs the facility without compassion for the animals that live there.” Sounds to me like he will be complicit in the title’s action.<\/p>\n

Cox will be joining cast members James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow and Andy Serkis.Franco and Litgow will play a father and son team of scientists who have raised a genetically altered chimp named Ceaser (Serkis via performance capture) who will ultimately lead an uprising of apes against humanity.<\/p>\n

The film is currently in production with a scheduled June 24, 2011 release date.<\/p>\n
