Surprisingly, we’ve gone almost a full week without any casting news for Quentin Tarantino’s World War II epic Inglorious Bastards<\/strong>, but Friday isn’t going to slip by us without one interesting tidbit.<\/p>\n

Variety is confirming reports that started over at Tarantino Archives<\/a>, that comic actor Mike Myers has been hired to play the role of British General Ed Fenech, who is, according to the showbiz news source, “a military mastermind who takes part in hatching a plot to wipe out Nazi leaders.” (I’d love to tell you more about the role, but I haven’t gotten around to reading my recently received copy of the script yet.) According to Tarantino Archives, it is a small role.<\/p>\n

While Myers has been getting lots of crap for his recent box office bomb The Love Guru<\/strong>, this actual sounds like an interesting casting choice. Mostly known for his over-the-top comedic personas, Myers has shown he has the chops to do some decent, serious acting. In 54<\/strong>, he stood out as one of the best things in the 1998 film about the legendary dance club that was Manhattan’s ground zero for the disco craze. Can he pull off another such performance? Tarantino has been known to have his films revitalize the careers of other actors, so it would probably behoove Myers to bring his best to the set.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
