\"\"<\/a>While the English language adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s novel The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo<\/strong> is preparing to the author’s home country of Sweden for filming, Noomi Rapace, who starred in the title role in the Swedish adaptation of the novel, is heading to Hollywood. Rapace has been cast in Sherlock Holmes 2<\/strong>, the follow up to last December’s hit starring Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law.<\/p>\n

Although she has been working in Sweden for the better part of the decade, Rapace rocketed to worldwide recognition with her role as the titular computer hacker of Dragon Tattoo<\/strong> and its two sequels The Girl Who Played With Fire<\/strong> and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

There’s no concrete word as to what part Rapace will be playing, though it is rumored that she will be playing a French gypsy. Then again, not much is known about the plot of Sherlock Holmes 2, except that Holmes should be facing off against his literary nemesis Professor Moriarty and that Holmes’ brother Mycroft is slated to appear.<\/p>\n

Over the last few weeks, Noomi has reportedly been making the rounds of Hollywood studios, meeting with execs and creative types about possible English language. She has reportedly taken meetings on Mission: Impossible 4<\/strong>, James McTeigue\u2019s The Raven<\/strong>, Brad Fischer’s Dracula tale The Last Voyage Of The Demeter<\/strong> and McG’s spy comedy This Means War<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sherlock Holmes 2<\/strong> is scheduled for a December 16, 2011 release, just five days before the release of the English language adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo<\/strong> on the 21st.<\/p>\n
