Kevin Smith Finds His MALLBRATS: MALLRATS 2 Mall

OK, we had our money on the Granite Run Mall in the Philadelphia suburb of Media, but Kevin Smith has at last found another southeastern Pennsylvania mall to shoot Mallbrats the sequel to his 1995 comedy Mallrats. Smith made the announcement via his Facebook page that the film would be shooting at the Exton Square Mall in Exton, PA. For those not acquainted with the region, Exton is less than hour from downtown Philadelphia (depending on traffic, of course) and about half an hour from the previously considered Granite Run Mall location. No official date for filming has been announced, though a fall start had been previously bandied about. Original cas members Jason Lee, Jeremy London, Shannen Doherty, Claire Forlani, Michael Rooker, Ethan Suplee, Jason Mewes, Renee Humphrey, Joey Lauren Adams, Sven-Ole Thorsen, Stan Lee, Scott Mosier, Brian O’Halloran, Walt Flanagan and Bryan Johnson have already committed to reprising their roles.
