Those looking forward to a live-action adaptation of the 1980s cartoon/toy line He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe are probably not going to be seeing their hoped for film any time soon.
According to a report over at Latino Review, the live action film being developed over at Warner Brothers under the title Grayskull: The Masters Of The Universe has slid into development hell and is not likely to escape anytime soon. Despite some strong buzz on the script by writer Justin Marks, the studio seems to be pulling back on its plans to put the film into active production.
The Latino Review story credits this development to the facts that the two executives who were championing the project have left the studio and the lack of securing an A-list director to helm the project.Latino Review also reports that Mattel, the toy company who makes the He-Man toys, is furious with the studio over the lack of movement on the project and they want to get the film rights back in order to shop them around to other studios.
