Although Peter Jackson’s two-part adaption of J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit is scheduled for 250 days of production, the director has divided that time up into three blocks of shooting. That first block has recently wrapped and while the actors are off on short vacations, Jackson and parts of the crew are still hard at work prepping things for the resumption of filming in September.
To fill us all in on the state of the production, Jackson has released his second video blog, this time featuring both himself and actor-turned-second unit director Andy Serkis. And if you look closely at the start, you’ll see a glimpse of the set for Gollum’s cave before going on a location scouting trip with Jackson.
