Jennifer Lawrence is starting to flex her new Academy Award-winner muscles, signing on to not only star in an adaptation of Claire Bidwell Smith’s memoirs The Rules Of Inheritance, but to produce as well. This is her first producer credit and is a sign that the actress has been looking for and is now able to exert a bit more creative control over the projects she is involved in.
In a Better World helmer Susanne Bier will be behind the camera with Shame‘s Abi Morgan providing the screenplay.
Bidwell Smith’s book chronicles her attempt to deal with both her parents being diagnosed with terminal cancer when she was just fourteen. Unfortunately, that coping led her to boys, alcohol and traveling for the anonymity of cities like New York and Los Angeles, until she finds herself alone in the world at age 25.
