Don’t Fret, Godzilla Will Look Like Godzilla In Next Year’s American-Produced Film

For some fans, the 1998 Godzilla film from TriStar’s redesign of the classic giant monster’s look was a big mistake and it appears that it is one that the producers of next summer’s new attempt at an English-language version of the franchise will not be making.

The folks at KaijuCast tweeted out a photo last night of a closeup of a poster on display at a licensing expo in Sao Paolo featuring a closeup of the Big G’s face which should put any fears of a radical rethinking of Godzilla’s look to rest. Especially when you factor in glimpse of Godzilla’s tail we got in the the teaser poster that was released at San Diego Comic Con this summer.

The fact that KaijuCast has since taken down the picture at the request of producers Legendary Pictures’s lawyers only confirms the legitimacy of the image.
