Terry Gilliam has been having some hard times trying to land a U.S. distributor for his latest film The Zero Theorem. Nevermind that he has two box office hits in 12 Monkeys and The Fisher King and critical cred for films like Brazil, I would say that Gilliam’s films are often difficult films for the average moviegoer (Tideland, anyone?) and as such are ultimately not viewed as very commercial by the studios. Having read the screenplay to Zero Theorem a while back I can’t say as I am surprised that he is having trouble finding a buyer for the picture. Hopefully, though, someone will step up to the plate soon, as I would rather have the chance to see the visuals in the first trailer below on the big screen rather than on my, admittedly not too shabby, home theater set up.
