Writer/producer J Michael Straczynski will be adapting his own upcoming graphic novel Titans for the big screen. Working through his own JMS Productions shingle, he will be joining with the digital company Graphic India and Chernin Entertainment for the project.
According to Deadline, the logline for the project reads as such –
When ships from an unknown world crash-land around the world, the Titans on board — massive entities with no memory of where they came from or where they were going — bond telepathically with the ordinary humans who encounter them. The story follows the Titans and their humans over a decade as the world tries to use them for their own purposes. Some want military superiority, others peace; some want to build cities, others to destroy them. The result is great hope and terrible wars.
Straczynski is perhaps best known for creating and writing a great majority of the 1990s television series Babylon 5. Since then, he has worked on the screenplays for Thor, World War Z and Ninja Assassin as well also having the solo writing credit on Clint Eastwood’s The Changeling. He is currently collaborating with the Wychowski’s for the Netflix series Sense8, currently in production. He has also written for both Marvel and DC Comics before launching his own comics imprint, Joe’s Comics.
