Saturday Night Live will be returning to the airwaves and its iconic 30 Rock studio. NBC announced that the iconic sketch series would return for its 45th season on October 3.
No other details about the opening episodes of the new season including who the hosts or musical guests would be or if there would be a live audience involved with the airings.
Usually around this time, the show is making announcements of new additions and departures to and from the cast. But so far this year, the on-screen talent roster appears to be remaining in place from last season, with the exception of supporting player Ego Nwodim to the main cast.
Saturday Night Live‘s previous season was truncated somewhat in mid-March after coronavirus shutdowns forced the show to abandon it’s standard live on-air production. The last episode before the shut down aired on March 7 and featured actor Daniel Craig as guest host. The show returned to the air on April 11 for the first of three shows comprised of prerecorded material shot by the cast while at home under quarantine.
