MA RAINY’S BLACK BOTTOM, MINARI And 2 More Lead SAG Awards Film Categories Nominations

Ma Rainey's Black Bottom

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Minari, The Trial of the Chicago 7 and Da 5 Bloods all scored three nominations apiece for this year’s Screen Actors Guild awards. The nominations for the Guild’s 27th annual awards were announced this morning.

The Guild also handed out a pair of nominations each to Hillbilly Elegy (Amy Adams and Glenn Close) and The Father (Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman).

The late Chadwick Boseman received two posthumous nominations, one in the Best Actor category for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and one in the Best Supporting Actor for director Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods.

The SAG Awards are considered a good indicator of who could be receiving acting nominations for the Academy Awards next month.
