PARTY DOWN Revival Greenlit With Most Cast Returning

Party Down

The Party Down catering crew is back! Well, most of them.

Starz has announced that they have officially given the go ahead to a six-episode revival of their cult favorite comedy series Party Down.

Original stars Ken Marino, Adam Scott, Jane Lynch, Martin Starr, Ryan Hansen and Megan Mullally have all closed deals to return as Los Angeles’s most unruly event caterers. Not returning for the new episodes is series star Lizzy Kaplan, as production conflicts with shooting on her new FX on Hulu series Fleishman Is in Trouble.

John Enbom – who co-created the series alongside Rob Thomas, Paul Rudd and Dan Etheridge – will be showrunning the revival. All of the series’ original co-creators are signed to executive produce.

Running only two season from 2009 – 2010, Party Down was never a big ratings draw, but was a hit with critics. Over time, it did grow an enthusiastic fan base. The show centered on a group of Hollywood hopefuls who were stuck working for a Los Angeles event catering company while struggling for their big show business break. It should be fun to see what turns their lives took that have them still working for the company over a decade later.
