HELLRAISER: ORIGINS – An Alternate Pitch For Reviving The Classic Horror Franchise

HellraiserOrigins

When Clive Barker recently pitched Dimension Films an idea to revive his classic Hellraiser franchise, he wasn’t the only creative type that the studio had been talking to. British director Mike Le Han and concept artist Paul Gerrard were also in the process of developing a new take designed to raise the classic series back from the dead. However, once Barker showed up to the Dimension offices, all thoughts of anyone else working on the franchise were quickly forgotten.

But if you’re interested in seeing what Le Han and Gerrard had been developing for the film they wanted to call Hellraiser: Origins, the pair have posted a concept trailer that they shot for the project online. They’ve also released a number of pieces of concept art and behind-the-scenes photos from the trailer shoot. You can see a bit of how they wanted to reimagine franchise villain Pinhead in the picture above, but you can get a fuller look at what they were interested in doing over at HellraiserOrigins.com.
