Universal To Remake SHINOBI

Variety is reporting that Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to remake the Japanese action film Shinobi (2005).

A variation on Romeo And Juliet, Shinobi told the story of two lovers from rival ninja clans in feudal Japan. The paper is reporting that Max Makowski is set to write and direct the adaptation, resetting the story to modern day Hong Kong and replacing the ninja clans with two multinational security forces.
