Gary Fleder, who has directed the crime thrillers Runaway Jury and Kiss The Girls, is in talks to direct an adaptation of John MacDonald’s mystery novel The Deep Blue Good-By, the first in his long running series featuring the womanizing detective Travis McGee.
As we reported earlier this week, a Travis McGee franchise opportunity is one of a number of projects that Robert Downey Jr. is considering in the wake of his success with Iron Man. MacDonald wrote 21 Travis McGee novels, each with a color in the title.
