Fincher To Bring THE GOON To The Big Screen

The official website of Eric Powell, THEGOON.com, is announcing that his creation, The Goon, is headed to the big screen. David Fincher, director of Se7en, Fight Club, and the upcoming The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Blur Studios are bringing the property to the big screeen courtesy of computer generated animation.

The Goon is a horror-noir comic currently being published by Dark Horse Comics. The title character is a man who pretends from working as muscle for a local crime boss but is actually running the rackets himself. He lives in a town where he must compete with zombies, witches and werewolves to keep his interests safe. Oh, and the comic is damn funny too.

No word on whether Fincher will be directing the project or only serving as producer.

Dark Horse Entertainment, the movie production arm of the comic book company, will also help bring The Goon to the screen.
