OLDBOY Remake Not As Dead As We Hoped

Do you think Craftsman would have been up for some product placement?Let’s face it, there’s not a whole lot of people out there who have been asking for an American remake of the instant classic Korean film Oldboy.

And it was almost exactly a year ago that we thought that the possibility of a remake starring Will Smith and directed by Steven Spielberg was finally a dead deal in Hollywood. Pajiba is reporting that Mandate Pictures is still developing the film and are excited by the script draft that writer Mark Protosevich is currently working on.

No word as to if there is a new director attached to the project yet, though I am sure that Mandate has a list of director’s they’re anxious to send the completed script out to.
