I’ll have to admit that I was a bit leery when I heard that Andrew Stanton was going to direct a live action version of Edgar Rice Burrough’s pulp hero John Carter of Mars, a Civil War hero is transported to Mars where he finds a adventure among the planet’s inhabitants. But the first trailer for the film, which will show up in theaters tomorrow in front of the Harry Potter finale, has me convinced that we just might be in for a great epic film. The film stars Taylor Kitsch, Willem Dafoe and Lynn Collins and will be hitting theaters next March.
Well, as someone who’s been looking forward to this for a loooong time, here’s my 2 cents. Good:-Period picture! looks good,Ilike that they’re using the backstory about Burrroughs being Carter’s nephew and the strangely designed tomb that he has him build for his body. -The ships of the Helium Navy look amazing! -Willem Dafoe as Tars Tarkas and James “Solomon Kane” Purefoy as Kantos Kan!
