Rosamund Pike is currently in negotiations to appear in One Shot opposite Tom Cruise. Pike will be playing a defense attorney defending a man accused of being a sniper murderer while Cruise will be playing Jack Reacher, a retired military policeman who travels the countryside helping those in trouble.
And while the description sounds more like the basis for a television series from the 1980s, the film is actually based on a series of novels featuring the Reacher character written by Lee Childs. The Usual Suspects screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie is writing the adaption for himself to direct for Paramount Pictures.
Pike has been fairly busy these last several months, having recently wrapped work on Clash Of The Titans 2, The Big Years with Owen Wilson, Jack Black and Steve Martin and Johnny English Reborn with Rowan Atkinson.
