MAN OF STEEL Adds Richard Schiff To Cast

Although it has been in production for several months, Zack Snyder’s Superman film Man Of Steel has added a new cast member. The West Wing‘s Richard Schiff will be playing Dr. Hamilton, which is very likely the film’s iteration of the Superman comics character Professor Emil Hamilton.

One of the first new characters introduced into the Superman mythos following Superman’s overhaul by his publisher DC Comics in 1986, Hamilton started out as a science adviser to the superhero, though more recently he has descended into villainy. Although versions of the character have appeared on television’s Smallville and  Superman: The Animated Series, this is the first time that the character has appeared on the big screen.

Set for a June 14, 2013 release, Man Of Steel also stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix and Laurence Fishburne.
