Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes.
Sure, it must be hard to find a title for a sequel to a prequel. But I’m not sure that this is the best possible title Twentieth Century Fox could have gone with. As some who awakes around sunrise, “Rise” and “Dawn” have very similar conotations to me, and I would assume for many other people as well.
The news comes via the studios announcement that the film is scheduled for a May 23, 2014 release. There was no word as to what the story might encompass, but I would assume that it will involve the spread of the ape-intelligence-enhancing/human-killing virus that was the MacGuffin of Rise.
Currently, Contagion scripter Scott Z Burns is working on a draft of the screenplay, following up on the work of original Rise scripters Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa.
