Following the news from earlier today that Chevy Chase was returning to play his mysterious repairman character in Hot Tub Time Machine 2 comes news that one of Chase’s former Community co-stars will be joining him on the film. Gilliam Jacobs, who plays Britta on the NBC comedy series, is being reported as having landed the female lead in the upcoming science-fiction comedy sequel.
Jacobs will be joining returning cast members Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke. There is no word as to what her part may entail.
There are probably some of you out there who are like me and are a bit surprised that Jacobs would work with Chase again after the numerous rumors that flew off the Community set about his behavior. Jacobs has been carving out a nice film career for herself away from the show and has the Jacob Vaughan-directed comedy Milo opening this fall and the comedies Walk Of Shame and Teddy Bears upcoming as well. That she would choose a project that would but her back together with Chase perhaps throws some cold water over some of those rumors.
