No FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS Movie Say TV Series Creator

The television series Friday Night Lights may have spun off from the 2004 film about a small Texas town and their devotion to the local high school football program, but it won’t be making the return trip back to the big screen.

Series executive producer Peter Berg broke the news to Collider

There’s not gonna be a movie. We talked about it, some people thought it was a good idea, some didn’t; I’ve come to believe it’s probably not a good idea and I seriously doubt it’s gonna happen.

Talk of a possible Friday Night Lights feature film had been circulating almost immediately after the series ended in 2011. Some of that talk even came from Berg himself, who confirmed in 2011 a script was being developed. It certainly sounds though as if they hadn’t proceeded past the initial story development stage.
