Ever wonder what the audition process for Star Wars is like? Well, there are plenty of videos of the process that have been released over the years. Despite that, the folks at Saturday Night Live have their own ideas as to what goes on when director JJ Abrams started the process of choosing actors for the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

What really make the bit more than just an excuse for SNL cast members to trot out some of their celebrity impersonation is the fact that a number of actual celebrities show up to play along including Abrams and Star Wars: The Force Awakens cast members Daisey Ridley and John Boyega. Emma Stone also drops by to take make some self-depricating jokes about her controversial casting in last year’s Aloha. And Jon Hamm shows up, because he’s Jon Hamm.

Of course this isn’t the first time that Saturday Night Live has had fun with Star Wars. Carrie Fisher hosted the show back in its fourth season and appeared as Princess Leia in a sketch that parodied the teen beach party movies of the 1950s. When Kevin Spacey hosted the show, he flexed his not-often-used-enough talent for impersonation to play a variety of actors auditioning for roles in the original Star Wars film. (Bonus points in that sketch go to Norm McDonald’s hilarious rendition of Burt Reynolds trying out for the role of Darth Vader.) And of course, last year around this time SNL took a swipe at the first trailer released for The Force Awakens.
