The teaser trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming is a teaser in the truest sense of the word. No Robert Downey, Jr. and no Michael Keaton. But we do get something that will give long time fans something to hoot and holler about.
Yes, it’s the return of Happy Hogan!
No, no it’s not. What will be getting fans so excited is the fact that Spidey now has web-wings.
The triangular-shaped webbing extending from his armpit to his hip and elbow has been a design element since Spider-Man’s first appearance. It has come and gone from the character depending on who drew him, but it is popular with Spider-Man purists. This is the first live-action appearance of them as far as I can tell. Hence, the excitement.
If you are thinking that’s a minor thing for comic book fans to get excited about, well, I guess you don’t know many comic fans then.
But outside of that, the teaser doesn’t really offer anything else we didn’t know. I just hope there aren’t many more of the “GoPro” type shots in the film.
The full trailer will premiere tomorrow. Check back then for reactions.
