SDCC 2018: GLASS Trailer Promises Collision Between Heroes And Villains

In his 2017 thriller Spilt, M. Night Shyamalan surprised moviegoers with a reveal at the end of the film that what audiences were watching was another story set in the world the director first showed us in 2000’s Unbreakable – a world where superheroes might actually walk among us. In that film, Bruce Willis starred as David Dunn, the only survivor of a train crash that makes Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson) think that he may have superhuman abilities and tries to goad him into taking up the mantle of a hero. And it was the surprise appearance of Willis at the end of Split that suggested that the one person who could stop that film’s raging schizophrenic Kevin Wendell Crumb, aka The Beast (James McAvoy), would be Dunn. Thankfully, Universal studios did not leave us hanging on that tantalizing prospect but quickly put into production the film that would bring these characters together – Glass. And now Universal, in conjunction with their panel at the San Diego Comic Con, has released the film’s first trailer, giving us a look at something fans have been waiting eighteen years to see.

In addition to Willis, Jackson and McAvoy, the cast of Glass includes Sarah Paulson and Anya Taylor-Joy.

Glasss opens in theaters on January 18th, 2019.
