One Night In Miami star Kingsley Ben-Adir has reportedly been cast in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Secret Invasion series for Disney+.
The news comes from Deadline, who is stating that Ben-Adir will be playing the series’ villain. Disney, unsurprisingly, had no comment on the report.
Ben-Adir will star opposite Samuel L Jackson once again playing spymaster Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the shapeshifting alien Skrull, Talos. Those two characters first met in the 1990s set Captain Marvel. They were also seen in 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, with Talos impersonating Fury on Earth while Fury was out in space on a spacecruiser manned by a number of Skrulls.
Although it has not been officially announced, Teyonah Parris’s character of Monica Rambeau will most likely appear on the show as well, given a post-credits scene involving her character on the series finale of WandaVision two weeks ago.
Secret Invasion is based on the 2008 comics miniseries in which featured a faction of evil shapeshifting Skrulls have replaced a number of superheroes and other key players in the Marvel Comics universe. It was announced as the basis for a Disney+ series last December.
