Looks like Dr. Ben Song will keep leaping through time a little while longer.
NBC has ordered an additional six episodes for its Quantum Leap revival, raising the first season episode total to 18.
The series premier netted 3.36 million viewers and now, almost a month into its run, is averaging just under 3 million same-day viewers. NBC drops episodes onto its Peacock streaming app the day after they air traditionally. The show is in the app’s top five most popular titles. The show is the most popular freshman series among the coveted adults 18-49 demographic according to the Hollywood Reporter.
A follow-up to the classic early 1990s science-fiction time travel drama, Quantum Leap stars Raymond Lee as Dr. Ben Song, a scientist who restarted Project Quantum Leap in order to find out exactly why original time traveler Sam Beckett (Scott Backula) disappeared. In addition to the following Ben’s trips through time helping people, there is a mystery slowly being unraveled back in 2022 that may impact his ability to finally come home. Ernie Hudson, Caitlin Bassett, Mason Alexander Park and Nanrisa Lee round out the cast.
