Here they come… again.
A sequel to Searchlight Picture’s 2019 dark comedy horror hit Ready Or Not has been announced.
The filmmaking collective filmmaking collective known as Radio Silence, comprised of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett and Chad Villella, are reteaming with star Samara Weaving for a followup to their 2019 horror action hit. The original film’s screenwriters, Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, are also returning to pen this new installment.
In the original, a bride (Weaving) spends her first married evening with her husband’s family when an after-dinner game goes very wrong. Made for an economical $6 million, the first Ready Or Not pulled in $56.7 million at the box office and earned a bigger audience through home video.
The first Ready Or Not seemed to end on a particular note of finality – no spoilers here – so it should be interesting to see how they pick up the story of Weaving’s character. Surely she isn’t going to get married into the same family again?
