And GI JOE’s Snake Eyes Will Be. . .

. . . Ray Park!

At least according to Slash Film‘s sources. No official announcement has been made.

Park, who appeared as Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode 1 and has Toad in the first X-Men feature, is reportedly signed up to play the anti-terrorism unit’s ninja with a mysterious past.

Park will be joining Sienna Miller, who has already been announced as being cast as the evil Baroness, a member of terrorist group COBRA, the JOE team’s arch foes.

Personally, I think this is a great casting choice. Park’s main roles have relied on physical presence and although he stands only five feet, nine inches tall, but in both Episode 1 and Tim Burton’s The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow, for which he was the fight double for the Headless Horseman, he has come across as taller. (I had met him at a convention once and was surprised that he was only an inch or two taller than me.) Also, as a renowned martial artist, we can be assured that Parks will be doing his own stunts, even if we never see him remove Snake Eye’s mask.
