QUANTUM OF SOLACE Latest To Shift November Premier Date

It all started when last week when Warner Brothers moved the latest Harry Potter film, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, from its November premier to next summer to prop up the studio’s weak 2009 blockbuster season lineup. Almost immedately, other studios began jockeying their own fall releases to take advantage of the 400 pound Potter gorilla leaving the room.

The latest schedule adjustment is MGM pushing the premier of the upcoming James Bond adventure Quantum Of Solace back a week from November 7 to the 14th. In a press release, the studio actually acknowledged that the move was made in part due to Half-Blood Prince vacating to next year, but added that it is “a great date that allows us to play straight through Thanksgiving and right into Christmas.”

Meanwhile, the film will still have its world premier in London on October 29 and start showing in various countries around the world on October 31.

While you’re waiting that extra week for Quantum Of Solace, here’s the cover for the upcoming Casino Royale: Collector’s Edition on Blu-Ray disc.
