If you missed out on Kevin Smith’s Red State Tour last fall, when the director took his new film around the country for a series of screenings and his (in)famous question and answer sessions, you’ll get one more chance on September 25. That’s when Smith brings the movie and Q & A to theaters across the country via an event being simulcast from the New Beverly Theater in Los Angeles.
D Squared Films, who is overseeing the film’s distribution, stated that Smith and a surprise guest moderator, will take questions from fans via Twitter during the event. Handling the digital simulcast is Emerging Cinemas who have a list of participating theaters listed on their website. There’s not many listed right now, but I except that number will grow as we get closer to the date.
Written and directed by Smith, Red State stars 2011 Academy Award winner for Best Actress Melissa Leo, Golden Globe winner John Goodman and Michael Parks. Drawing inspiration from the hate-mongering Fred Phelps and his Westboro Baptist Church, Parks stars as a crazed Fundamentalist preacher who terrorizes a group of teenagers.
