Aaron Eckhart is set to star in an adaption of the graphic novel I Frankenstein being written and directed by G I Joe writer Stuart Beattie.
According to a press release from Lakeshore Entertainment, who are producing the film, Eckhart will play the creation of the famous mad scientists who “has survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation. Making his way to a dark, gothic metropolis, he finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.”
So it sounds like Mary Shelley by way of Russell Mulchay’s Highlander, which sounds kind of horrible.
I’ve not read the original graphic novel, but given that it was created by Kevin Grevioux, who also helped create the Underworld franchise which I’m not overly found of, and I really don’t have much confidence in what the final product may turn out to be.
The film is set to start production in Australia in January with a February 22, 2103 release date set.
